At the time of this recording, we are experiencing an unfathomable tragedy in the world. The pain and suffering we see in this world can be overwhelming. When you add the 24 hour news cycle and social media, it can feel like a constant bombardment of sadness and pain.
Today we are discussing what this continual stress can do to our bodies and some steps we can take in order to calm our nervous systems and find some healing.
Jessica acknowledges that she is coming from a place of privilege in that she is safe and has access to food and water. She is not in danger or worried about family members. Many of you listening are in the same situation. We have the ability to step away from the stress of these tragedies, while many people do not. This episode is not comparing those situations in any way. Our hearts are broken for all suffering directly in the world right now.
For those who are safe and feeling the stress of the destruction and helplessness in the world, it's important to take care of yourself so that you are ready to be a helper to those in need when the calling comes. Today's episode will help you do that, while reminding you that you are not alone in your sadness.
